AO takes the responsibility of being a good corporate citizen very seriously, both within the orthodontic community and out. AO remains a strong supporter of the American Association of Orthodontics Foundation, having been the first company to make a million dollar donation to the AAOF to further education and research grants to advance the orthodontic industry.
Since 2016, AO has sponsored the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics Eugene L. Gottlieb Student of the Year Award, recognizing clinical excellence by orthodontic students.
In 2019 AO was named the Marquette University Friend of the Year for their longstanding support of the Dental School. Internationally, AO has sponsored Power2Reason symposiums for many years, bringing the orthodontic community together to share ideas and learn current trends and improvements in the industry.
AO also supports the community it calls home. In addition to being named the 2014 Economic Driver of the Year in Sheboygan County, AO employees are very active in fundraising for the American Cancer Society, having participated in the ACS Road America Run/Walk every year since its inception in 1978, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years. AO has also actively supported the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and recognized annually since 2014 for supporting diversity and the cultural preservation of the Hmong American community in Sheboygan.
