Prof. Jonathan Sandler

B.D.S. (HONS), MSc, PhD, MOrth

Dr. Jonathan Sandler has been a Consultant Orthodontist at Chesterfield Royal Hospital since 1993. He served as Postgraduate Course Director at Manchester University from 1995-2002.

He is has been a Membership in Orthodontics Examiner since 1997 for both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh. He was also an ISFE Examiner from 2001-2007. He is a full member of the Angle Society of Europe, and one of only three British orthodontists with European Board Certification in Orthodontics.

Dr. Sandler has authored or co-authored over 100 peer reviewed publications and has given over 100 invitation lectures nationally and internationally. He served as the Clinical editor for the Journal of Orthodontics from 2001 to 2008 and has been a contributing editor to the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics since 2005.

He was Chairman of the British Orthodontic Conference 2004-2006 and is Chairman of the next ‘World Orthodontic Conference’ which will be held in London in 2015.

Dr. Sandler’s main clinical interests are Twin Block therapy, Digital Photography, Finishing techniques in Orthodontics, Implants and Micro-screws in Orthodontics, Self-ligation techniques, and teaching Orthodontics at all levels. He has recently completed a PhD in anchorage supplementation with micro-screws.
